As certified psychotherapists, we will support you and your family every step of the way as you develop new family diet plans, improve family fitness activities, confront emotional overeating, and evaluate your successes, challenges, and obstacles. Emotions are a core foundation for the eating patterns that we have learned over a lifetime. Giving voice to these feelings and experiences contribute to long-term success.
Commitment
As adults, we often have to change negative patterns in our relationship to ourselves. But, as parents, we have the opportunity to teach children this most vital of commitments early in their life. When you take pride in relationship to your body, the risk for all harmful behavior later in life is reduced.
Consistency
Consistency is the primary tool for positive change. It is not WHAT form of physical activity that you choose, it is how consistently you do it. The same goes for eating patterns. Making these lifestyle changes for you and your family requires consistency. In many ways, this is easier than stringent diets. In some ways, it is harder. We support you in this process confidentially, and with respect for the challenges faced by each individual or family member.
